Kohinoor was the restaurant of the Amritha Hotel, and it is open again on the same Thycaud property.

Our story

A star attraction of the 1970s

The Amritha Hotel opened in Thycaud in the 1950s, a five-room house built in the colonial style, with its dining room at the centre of the plan.

Through the 1970s Amritha was a virtual home for the Malayalam film world, and the Kohinoor Restaurant was a star attraction for all of them.

The old flavours are brought back to life once again as Kohinoor reopens with a menu that blends European and Indian cuisines.

Dining on the lawn

Amritha Heritage also brings back dining on the lawn — the first such experience in the city, and still the most distinctive table on the property. It is a place to take a long meal, and it doubles as the setting for banquets.
